About
Hi, I’m an independent engineer working with AI systems.
This blog is where I write about building, testing, and understanding AI —
with care, restraint, and long-term thinking.
What I work on
I focus on the practical side of artificial intelligence, especially where real systems meet real constraints.
- Large Language Models (LLMs) and their real-world behavior
- AI system testing, evaluation, and failure modes
- Engineering workflows, tooling, and system design
- Reliability, clarity, and trade-offs in AI systems
I care less about demos and more about what still works after the excitement fades.
How I think about AI
I don’t see AI as magic, nor as something to fear by default.
To me, AI systems are engineered artifacts — shaped by data, incentives, and human decisions.
Good AI work, in my experience, requires:
- Patience over speed
- Measurement over intuition
- Simplicity over cleverness
Most problems become clearer when you slow down enough to observe them.
Why “cheesekitty”
cheesekitty is named after my cat, Cheese.
Watching a cat sit quietly, observe, and act only when it matters
is a surprisingly good metaphor for engineering.
Not everything needs to be optimized.
Not every idea needs to ship.
Some things just need time.
Working independently
I operate as a self-directed professional, taking on AI-related projects, research, and technical consulting.
I prefer work that:
- Solves real problems
- Compounds over time
- Respects both people and systems
If you value careful engineering and honest thinking about AI,
this blog is for you.
